Exploring new places makes us more hopeful. It expands our empathy for ourselves and others.

The mountains help us realize our own abilities.

Time away from screens and social obligations help us cope with the normal stresses of life.

Running and hiking bring us into an active meditation state. When we’re in nature, we get to ruminate on all the questions we have about ourselves and our lives - questions we may not have the bandwidth to indulge in during our everyday lives.

I call the place I do this work my “other office.”
